i wonder?

i wonder sometimes if being cared for is a blessing? or it is a painful

cos i had 1 patient, very old elderly..approx ~80+
had cancer when it was diagnosed , she took it well in her stride
and gone thru the whole process of chemo , seeing doc, checkups, all this she gone through alone!
i really wonder what had the family been doing to take care of her? she stayed with her husband abt 90+ , children are all not staying with her!
she had gone thru it all by herself, never even visit her through her stay in hospital or bring her to check ups! she had to take taxi all time time to bring herself to see doc..
What THE HELL HAD THE FAMILY DONE FOR HER!!??

i was really very upset when i heard it from another pt relative, whom pt told them abt her story...
my pt is a really nice and sweet pt...
i will do my best to help her and protect her!!

on the other hand
i got another pt abt 60+ to 70
is too protected by the family until they critizied and given very sacarstics comments and even scolded us ..after what we had done for their mother..they dont seem to understand how busy and how many pts we are taking care of...
and cant possibly be there all the time...
critizied that we are lousy and cant even check which consultant is coming to see their mother on a SATURDAY! (excuse me not all drs are working on A SATURDAY!, even their team drs dun even noe!)
and keep asking us to call drs for this and that ,
for minor minor little things,
and when the drs are there , they nv ask carefully what ever qns they had in mind...
only when drs left den they call us to ask drs this and that! what the!

and pt does not noe her own disease! and they wanna protect her ..ya but cant they see that pt herself is very ill already! and what they wan the drs to do is very intensive treatment which will cause their mother to be even more tired and painful!
really!
can they just let her noe her disease at least she can prepare herself what ever unfulfilled wishes she have , at least her family can help to fulfil for her....

i pity the patient...

that her family is bring her more pain than comfort for her...and her family is scolding the nurses and causing us not dare to step near her , to really care for her from our hearts..really..i feel it that way...

had a tiring dat trying to guide new staff...
gotta slp early to gain more energy to battle through tmr!! =)
