WORSE NITE SHIFT SO FAR EVER

yesterday night 14/11/08 is the worse night shift so far that i ever had done...
i was seriously tinking i had always prayed for a peaceful nights all along...
and i heard pj night (usually 3rd night) the B2 side wld haf an active ..
so i tot it will be EXCITING to have sth different
SHIT
guess what happen, right frm the start of the shift..
in the night with karen at as the overall in charge , me as the iv nurse, and mar-tin the junior
couldnt help but feel dat the nite is not gg to be peaceful...started with my hypocount taking...den attending with call bells..
den my junior Mar-tin started the parameters taking (check temp, bp, etc) rounds..
so there i go to help her out..
in between the parameters, 2patients started vomitting, so i went to tell karen , for her to inform the doctor on call..and so meds given, and it stop thereafter
went to another rm, started taking parameters again,
1 pt wanted to BO (Pass motion) so i help him out of the bed,
and Mar-tin continue with para...
den left 1 pt in that rm haven take the para..
den i went to explain to the family..
cos they said to wait until later then take..cos the father is slping...
but I told them if they dun wan to take now, later when we come back pt will be again woken up by us when we take the para..
SO WHY NOT TAKE IT ONCE AND FOR ALL! i gif that super disgusted face..
as i wanted to tidy up the rm - iits looks super MESSY with all the armchairs lying ard all in the rm..and they said they want it..!! * i given a super pissed off face!
and the daughter bending down trying to read my nametag--haha
too bad my nametag was overturned at the point of time..cos the cliped on badge with the pull out thingy, often cause the name tag to be overturned haha!!
so nvm...the family really treat it like a HOTEL!
and when another pt is in the toilet, the daughter went to knock on to the toilet door to ask the pt to come our cos the father wanted to use the toilet!
WHERE SHE TINK SHE IS AT !
IN HOSPITAL ...
i repeat HOSPITAL!!!
all my pts are B1 class..how can they do things to offend my other pt..
i am super pissed of by such acts! is so selfish ..everyone have the right to use it at any point of time, u cant chase another pt out just cos ur father want to use it...
bloody shit!
then after dat Mar-tin have to continue withe rest othe para..
cos i need to go put up chemo at 11+pm...
so i went ahead..and another pt chemo completed
so i went to off it and remove it..
and dont tink chemo is anyone can remove de wor..
cos u muz be trained how to protect urself from the inhaling chemo, prevent spillage..
cos spillage of chemo is a big issue
and need to be raised up to the HEAD OF me..
haha after all the chemo thing
karen helped to gif the 12mn iv antibiotics
then i sat down trying to topped up all the charts and closing the charts at abt gg 1am plus to 2am alrdy!
then call bells started..
and frm then on nv had a proper time to sit down and do my charts
and i had to change 4 bed sheets in the whole night cos they all wet the bed!
and its super tiring la..its all those pts who cant move and
heavy but with the help of either karen or
mar-tin..but all this bed changing is causing my backache!
den by abt 4 plus ..the wayang started alrdy
dat pt i mention earlier started to be restless and causing a commotion in dat rm...
ALL my pts cant slp is due to him..thanks huh!
dis time the doctor happen to be here...we persuade him,
calm him down , he still very violent!
we got no choice to restrain him withthe help of the daughters,
den try to sedate him..started with oral meds ,
but he refuse to take it..then go to iv sedation..
3nurses and 1 doctors plus 2 daughters
trying to pin the pt down to gif the sedation...he is super strong la!~
he struggled and keep shouting KIDNAP ! DIE LE LA!!
we had a hard time with him lo seriously...den the doctor try to set a plug for him and take the bloods as he refused earlier..all of us pin him down again..cos he is still not very sedated
and the doc set the plug given another sedation
den he calm down almost knocked out..we tot still want to catherterise him..but he pass urine the whole bed alrdy..shit..they we changed the bed for him again!!
argh!
i am totally so damned dead tired la...
den after dat all pts wanted to transfer out due to him
but we got no more beds to transfer to..very sorry pts!
call bells non-stop...i only managed to close the charts at abt 5plus am to 6am lo...
its the very longerest time i had ever take to close..
BREAK RECORD ALREADY!
then ..after that i went to take short break like 5mins den gg to pass report aldy
had a quick small bite and there we go pass report...
i wanna step out of the ward asap..to go hm and slp
but i waited for so long for a bus ...
at 9am i reached hm.....
finally! showered and nv taken breakfast den jumped to bed to slp le..until 4plus pm den wake up..
now blog finish gg to wash to and prepare for work..and take my 1st meal for the day!

GOD PLS GRANT ME A PEACEFUL NIGHT..
i need to take a break!
help mi pray please..if not the next one who is knocked out wld be me!
